BR 1-05: The Rainbow Machine

I read a book "The Rainbow Machine". I write about this book's outline.
It was raining, but the sun was shining at the same time. The children looked up and saw a rainbow across the sky. The children wondered at that where the rainbow begins and where it ends. In a place far away, there was a lorry. It was a very big lorry because on the back was a very big machine. It was the rainbow machine. The machine made rainbows. There are 7 colors in the rainbow. It took 7 people to look after the rainbow machine. They cleaned it and polished it and they made sure it worked properly. The rainbow machine had to be ready at any time, sometimes weeks and weeks went by and a rainbow was not needed. But when the call came, the rainbow makers had to work fast. Off they went in the lorry. While it was going along, the rainbow makers got the rainbow ready. They set timing and pressed a button and the rainbow shot out of the machine. When there was a rainbow, everyone stopped to look at it. Sometimes the rainbow was very bright but sometimes it was quite pale. Often the children ran towards it. They wanted to find the end of it, and play in all the colors. But, of course, they never could.
One of the rainbow makers was a young man called Fred. He was new and he was learning to be a rainbow maker. One day, the other rainbow makers asked Fred to look after the lorry. The lorry was on a double yellow line. Fred saw a traffic warden, so he climbed into the driver's cab and drove away. Fred drove the lorry along the road. He wanted to turn the lorry round, so he drove into a field. The lorry stuck in the mud. The wheels spun round and round and the lorry sank deeper and deeper. He was in trouble. Suddenly, there was a door in the field. Biff and Chip came through it with Wilf, Nadim and Anneena. Biff had the magic key. A new adventure had begun. The children saw that a lorry was stuck in the field. Then they saw Fred. They helped Fred. The children pushed the lorry, but it was no good. The lorry was too big, and it was far too heavy. Suddenly, it began to rain even though the sun was shining. On the lorry, things began to buzz and flash. Fred had to make a rainbow, so he also asked the children to help. The children helped Fred to pull the cover off the rainbow machine. Fred tried to work the rainbow machine, but he didn't know how to work the computer yet. Nadim was good with computers. He looked at the rainbow keyboard. He didn't really know what to do, but he didn't like to tell Fred. Nadim pushed button randomly. The rainbow machine sent up a rainbow. The rainbow was too bright for them to see it properly so Fred gave everyone some dark glasses. The children looked up at the rainbow they had made. It didn't look quite right. The rainbow didn't look right. It is very strange. First it went straight up. Then it went straight along and then it went straight down.The rainbow makers were having a cup of tea. They looked out of the window. Everyone was staring at the sky. They were surprised at it. They ran out into the road but the rainbow machine had gone. They panicked. The rainbow changed a broken rainbow. The rainbow changed again. This time it was twisted and it was very bright. The rainbow makers found the rainbow machine. Back at the rainbow machine, something had gone wrong. Nadim had been too clever. The rainbow was leaking and all the red was running out.The sky was turning red. Fred turned pale. The rainbow makers found the lorry. They were cross with Fred. The rainbow machine had to bleach the sky.The sky had turned white. The sun wasn't yellow anymore. Nadim apologized to the rainbow makers. The rainbow makers allowed him. Suddenly, the magic key began to glow. The sky was blue and the sun was shining.
The rainbow is very beautiful, I like it. I have tried to go to the rainbow when I was child, but, of course, I couldn't go to the rainbow. I think that everyone have done this once. I think that the rainbow is child's dream. As the rainy season will have set in nearly, I'm looking forward to seeing the rainbow.

BR 1-04:The Flying Elephant

I read a book "The Flying Elephant". I tell you about This book's story and my impression. Story started from going shopping. Mother went shopping. She took the children. They got to shopping mall, and the children looked up. There was an elephant on the roof. The elephant looked funny. The elephant was fat. The children laughed and they said to mother "Look at that fat elephant.". Mother said "Don't be silly.". Suddenly, there was a storm, the wind blew. It rained and rained. It was a bad storm, the wind was strong. It blew the elephant away. Next day, the children went to school, the elephant was in the playground. The children also laughed. The children said to Mrs May "Look at that fat elephant". Mrs May also said "Don't be silly" like their mother. The children liked the fat elephant, so they wanted it to stay. But 2 people came to school to collect the fat elephant. They let the air out of the elephant. Biff said "Look at the fat elephant.", and Wilma said "It's a flat elephant now, because the elephant deflated. After I read this book, what I thought is why their mother and Mrs May said "Don't be silly" when the children said to them "Look at the fat elephant". I didn't know why it is silly.

This book was very cute, I always think. As I like this series, I want to read this series much more.

I have 14 classes except writing class in spring semester. My favorite class is overseas induction, becasuse I am looking forward to going to America. The most difficult class I think is Japanese literary readingⅠ, because I am not good at classic. The easiest class I think is British history, because the teacher is very kind and cute. The most interesting class I think is English literature introduction, because I can watch some famous movie. I watched "Romeo and Juliet", and it was very interesting!!

Essay 1-02a: Music

I like J-pop and western music, so I examine about my best favorite western musician. My best favorite western musician is Avril Lavigne. I love her very much.

First, I write about her outline. Avril Lavigne, her real name is Avril Ramona Lavigne Whibley, is singer-songwriter, who is from City of Bellville, Province of Ontario in Canada. She has musical ability of Modern, Rock, Punk Rock, Pop Rock, Power Rock and so on. Her debut album "Let Go", which was released in 2002, sold about 1700 ten thousands CDs all over the world, and it was chosen platinum disc six times in America. Both her second album "Under My Skin" and her third album "The Best Damn Thing" ranked first place on Billboard 200. Her single "Complicated", "Sk8er Boi", "I'm With You", "My Happy Ending", "Girlfriend" etc. 11 songs were in top 10. Now, her album achived 300 ten thousands CDs sales in the whole world. Canadian business magazine is electing her "Best 7 of the most powerful Canadian who is around as a singer in America".

December, 2007, Forbes magazine ranked eighth place of " The person who earn money the most at less than 25", and Forbes magazine mentioned that her annual income is 1200 ten thousands dollars. June, 2005, she married Deryck Whibley, who is a lead vocal and guitarist of Sum 41, when she was 20 years old, but she announced that they were living away in September 2009. On October 9th, 2009, she applied to Los Angeles court for divorce because it was difficult for them to reconcile each other. As of 2009, she haven't child. She is 158 centimeters tall, and she has gray eyes.

Next, I write about her background. She was born on September 27th, 1984 in city of Bellville, Province of Ontario in Canada. Her father is from France, and her mother is a French-Canadian. As both her parents were Christian, she took Catholic education. When she was 10 years old, all of her family moved to Napanee. When she was 12 years old, she started to play the guitar by herself, and she started to advance way of music.
She competed music acting with Shania Twain who is a country music representative singer in Canada. She contracted Arista Records company in 2000. She released her 1st album “Let Go” in June, 2002, and it sold more than 2000 ten thousands CDs in the world and more than 200 ten thousands CDs in Japan. She released her 2nd album “Under My Skin” in May, 2004. It recorded more than 38 ten thousands CDs sales only the first week in America. She got married with SUM 41’s vocal Deryck Whibley, but they divoeced in 2009.

Finally, I write my impression about her. I first knew her when I was a primary school student. She is very cool and cute, I was attracted to her at once. I listened to her music every day. Her album “ Under My Skin” was CD which I bought for the first time. I’m treasuring it now. I will love her forever.

As one of Japanese eating habits, there is habit of chopsticks. The Japanese usually uses chopsticks when we eat meals. Chopstick is 2 sticks, we catch food with it, and we eat food. It is difficult to use chopstick, there are many adults who can't use chopstick well. I think that it is shameful for adults to can't use shopstick well, so it should teach how to use chopstick well when we are child. Recently, western foods are often eaten in Japan, so chopstick isn't used much. But as it is good to use chopstick, I want to keep using chopstick.

BR 1-03: Noah's Ark Adventure

I read a book of the magic key series. The book's title is "Noah's Ark Adventure". This book was also story which the children adventure with magic key. It rained and rained in the real world. It rained all day long, so the children were fed up. The children went outside to play, but it was too wet to play because of raining. Dad looked out of the window, and he told them to come inside as it's too wet to play outside. The children went to Biff's room. Suddenly, the key began to glow. It was time for a magic adventure. They were looking forward to a magic adventure, because they were fed up with all the rain. The magic key took them into a new adventure, but it was raining. They were disappointed in it. The children saw a boat, it was Noah's Ark. Noah had to put the animals on the Ark as they drown. It was raining so much that the water's going to cover everything. As Noah asked them to want some help pointing at the Ark, they helped put the animals on to the Ark. The animals went on to the Ark. A man pushed the elephants, they pulled the crocodiles up in a big net and they pushed a camel because it didn't want to go on to the Ark. As the animals put on the Ark, the children tried to went on to the Ark. A dog Floppy was with the children. Noah looked at Floppy, shouted "Stop!". Noah apologized to them for not being able to have three dogs, because two dogs put on the Ark. The children couldn't leave Floppy, so they didn't go on the Ark. The Ark sailed away. The children floated in Noah's big umbrella. It was still raining. Just then, the magic key began to glow. The magic key took the children their house. Noah's big umbrella got small. The story finished. As I have been fed up on a rainy day, I want the magic key, too. When they were told not to be able to put Floppy by Noah, the children didn't leave Floppy, I thought that the children was very kind. If I face same situation, I will not leave, too. I didn't know about Noah's Ark, so I researched it on the Internet. Noah's Ark story is interesting. It was good for me to read this book.
